Creamy protein oats swirled with peanut butter and fresh strawberry jam layers

# What You Need:

→ Oats Base

01 - 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
02 - 1.5 cups unsweetened almond milk
03 - 0.5 cup plain Greek yogurt
04 - 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (approximately 30g)
05 - 2 tablespoons chia seeds
06 - 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
07 - 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
08 - Pinch of salt

→ Peanut Butter Layer

09 - 3 tablespoons natural peanut butter

→ Strawberry Jam Swirl

10 - 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries, diced
11 - 1 tablespoon chia seeds
12 - 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
13 - 1 teaspoon lemon juice

# How To Make:

01 - In a medium bowl, combine rolled oats, almond milk, Greek yogurt, protein powder, chia seeds, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir thoroughly until fully incorporated.
02 - In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine strawberries and maple syrup. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until berries soften and release their juices. Lightly mash with a fork. Remove from heat and stir in chia seeds and lemon juice. Allow to cool and thicken.
03 - Divide oat mixture evenly between two jars or containers, filling each halfway. Layer 1.5 tablespoons of peanut butter into each jar, then top with remaining oat mixture.
04 - Swirl 2 to 3 tablespoons of cooled strawberry compote across the top of each prepared jar.
05 - Cover jars with lids and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld and oats to soften.
06 - In the morning, stir lightly if desired. Top with additional fresh strawberries or crushed peanuts. Enjoy chilled, or briefly microwave if warm oats are preferred.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • You make breakfast the night before, so mornings feel stolen back from chaos.
  • It tastes indulgent—like a dessert disguised as something healthy—but actually delivers real protein and staying power.
  • The visual appeal means you'll actually want to photograph it, which somehow makes eating it feel more intentional.
02 -
  • Don't skip cooling the strawberry jam before layering—warm jam will make the oats mushy instead of creamy, and you'll lose that perfect texture contrast.
  • Natural peanut butter separates and creates a better swirl than conventional peanut butter, which I found out when my first jar looked like cement instead of a pretty layer.
03 -
  • Make your jam in advance and store it in a small container so assembly on busy mornings is literally just spooning and layering—no cooking required.
  • If you forget to refrigerate overnight and only have a few hours, you can still eat it, but the texture will be slightly grainier; plan ahead when you can.
